TailgateJoe in Cincinnati

Joe, Nicky, Sal, Jay, Frank and a few others from the TailgateJoe crew Went west to Cincinnati to see the New York Jets take on the Cincinnati Bengals for the 2009 Wildcard Round of the NFL playoffs. Here’s a few pics and videos from the weekend.

At The Game

We were lucky enough to find a parking lot full of Jets fans. All it took was a few Jets fans sitting in the front of the lot to draw the attention of more green and white while keeping hometown Bengals fans a safe distance away. We started the day off with a Jersey favorite, Taylor Pork Roll sandwiches hot off the griddle. We also had jumbo mexican hot dogs with bacon fried up on site. After that were Peter Luger Sauce infused burgers and finally Grade Prime Carne Asada Steak soft tacos. Here is some video from the tailgate and inside the game..

After The Game

After the victory, we decided to hit up some local spots in Cincinnati. Since everything in this town is covered in chili, we decided to check out Skyline Chili (go to the site and listen to the ridiculous jingle) , a Cincinnati institution. The most popular things on the menu are the chili cheese coney which is a small hot dog with chili and cheese on top, and the 3, 4, and 5 way which is a plate of spaghetti with chili and shredded cheese (3way) with beans (4way) and onions (5way). I have to tell you in all honesty, it was all shit. I have eaten better chili out of a can, I have eaten better chili mixed in a toilet and warmed up on a hotplate in a Rikers Island prison cell. It was that bad. I may be partial, but I will take the TailgateJoe Hot Dog Topping Chili over this slop 6 days a week and TWICE on Sunday! Jay seemed to like it though, and his mother was found passed out when she heard he was eating spaghetti with chili, you can get a little mini review here. Gross.

After eating that slop, a few of us headed over to Newport, Kentucky for a little night life. How funny is it when you have to leave your city, and state, to head to Kentucky for better nightlife, yikes! Anyway, it was a good time, lots of super hot cougars. On the way out I stumbled upon Chad Ocho-Cinco-Johnson-Revis’s brand new birthday present, a hooked up International Truck. You KNOW I wasn’t just going to walk by without reminding everyone who won that night, take a look…

All in all it was a great weekend, hopefully the Jets can keep it going in San Diego this weekend!
